Visual Redesign

In 2015, we created the first e-commerce site for Club Venturio. This store and membership club was built on the Magento content management system and evolved until early 2022. Despite adding features like CRM integration, new products, and visit sales, a revamp soon became necessary to adapt to new trends.

When transitioning from Magento to WooCommerce, several advantages of WordPress were taken into account:

Improved admin interface: WordPress simplifies and offers greater flexibility to e-commerce managers, allowing most day-to-day changes to be made from an easy-to-use admin panel, even by non-technical users. These improvements enable faster responses to the brand’s needs while reducing dependence on the web development agency for e-commerce management tasks.

Agility in creating new sections on the website: For a brand, it’s a huge advantage to know that new sections, landing pages, etc., can be created in a relatively short amount of time, something where WordPress excels compared to other e-commerce solutions.

SEO improvements: From an SEO standpoint, WordPress is one of the most optimized web development platforms. In such a competitive environment as online wine sales, this is crucial.

Performance improvements: Website performance has become a key factor for user experience and search engine ranking. WordPress provides plugins and tools that deliver excellent performance results.

Scalability: One of the standout features of WooCommerce is its ability to expand functionalities, both through existing plugins and custom developments. WordPress offers a comprehensive catalog of plugins, making it easier to implement new features in the future, such as multilingual support, digital product sales, subscription systems, event ticket sales, and more.etc.

Visual Redesign

The visual redesign has been one of the key aspects of the project. A new corporate identity, created by the agency Mi abuela no lo entiende, served as the starting point for a complete visual and user experience overhaul.

The challenge was particularly complex due to the fact that it’s a multi-brand e-commerce site, where the umbrella brand, Club Venturio, hosts brands with strong personalities like Ramón Bilbao, Martin Miller’s, and Licor 43. The goal was to convey the experience of an official e-commerce site rather than just a commercial distributor site. From a UX perspective, the challenge was to analyze the purchasing and registration processes to not only drive sales but also encourage sign-ups to the membership club, as, in addition to e-commerce, the store focuses on consumer loyalty.

Migration from Magento to WooCommerce

One of the major challenges of this project was transferring the customer and order history from Magento 1 to WordPress. A store with 7 years of history holds a large volume of customers and orders that needed to be preserved.

These are two content management systems with different data models, so it was necessary to develop an importer to retrieve the customers and orders from Magento and migrate them to WooCommerce. This way, customers were able to retain their personal information and order history, avoiding the need to re-enter their details.

WooCommerce Integration with Salesforce

When a producer launches an e-commerce site, they are not only looking for sales but also aiming to leverage information to learn about their customers. To achieve this, it’s essential to have a tool that helps process this information, and in this project, that role is filled by the Salesforce CRM.

To transfer the information from WooCommerce to Salesforce, a development is required that considers the data models of both platforms, examines the necessary workflows for data synchronization, and automates a series of tasks for information exchange between the tools. By automating processes, customer data management is streamlined, errors are avoided, and a better customer insight is achieved.
